The Hostess/Cashier is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring smooth flow of guests. As a cashier, they handle billing, process payments, and maintain accurate cash records, ensuring customer satisfaction from entry to exit.
Key Responsibilities:Hostess Duties:
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Maintain reservation and waitlist systems accurately.
- Answer phone calls professionally and assist with inquiries or bookings.
- Manage seating arrangements and table rotations to optimize service flow.
- Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials or promotions.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance and waiting area.
- Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen for smooth service.
Cashier Duties:
- Present bills, receive payments (cash, credit/debit, digital wallets), and issue receipts.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately.
- Ensure proper cash handling and reconcile cash drawer at the end of shifts.
- Manage refunds, voids, and discounts as per policy.
- Maintain proper records of daily transactions.
- Respond to billing queries or complaints courteously and promptly.
