Laugh Factory Chicago is seeking an energetic and friendly individual to join our team as a Host and Food Runner. In this dual role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their evening. As the Host, you will warmly welcome patrons, manage seating arrangements, and maintain smooth customer flow throughout the venue. As a Food Runner, you will ensure the timely delivery of food to guests, providing attentive and efficient service to enhance the comedy club experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Host Duties
- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude, creating a positive first impression.
- Maintaining an organized seating chart to maximize occupancy.
- Communicate seating updates to the waitstaff and kitchen to ensure smooth service.
- Provide accurate information about showtimes, ticket availability, and venue policies.
- Assist with ticket sales and will-call as needed, ensuring an efficient check-in process.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the front-of-house area, including the entrance, lobby, and restrooms.
Food Runner Duties
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure food and beverages are delivered promptly to the correct tables.
- Ensure food items are accurately assembled, plated, and presented according to club standards.
- Provide fast and efficient support by clearing tables
- Communicate any guest requests, allergies, or concerns to the kitchen or management team.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the showroom, including resetting tables between shows.
- Work closely with the team to ensure smooth service during busy periods and live performances.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in hosting, food running, or a similar role in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage guests and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with grace and efficiency.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with excellent teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as this is a nightlife-oriented position.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift light items (up to 25 lbs) for extended periods.
