Host/Hostess

We are hiring for a Host to support the food and beverage team at a well-regarded property in Norfolk, VA. The Host is responsible for greeting guests as they arrive for breakfast, lunch, or dinner service, managing seating logistics, and ensuring smooth communication between the front and back of house. Salary: $15.00/hr - Weekly Pay

Host Responsibilities:

• Greet guests upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional first impression.
• Manage seating assignments, reservations, and guest wait lists.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Communicate with servers and management to coordinate seating flow and minimize wait times
  
• Answer guest inquiries about the menu, service times, or hotel amenities.
• Monitor dining room activity to ensure efficient seating and guest satisfaction
• Keep the entrance and host area clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of the dining area when needed.
• Support the food and beverage team in maintaining an elevated dining experience.
  
• Uphold hospitality and service standards at all times.

Host Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a host or guest-facing hospitality role preferred.
  
• A welcoming and professional attitude with strong verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a team environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the restaurant.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
