Job Summary
Join our hospitality team as a Host/Hostess and become the first impression of the guest experience. We are looking for energetic, organized, and hospitality-driven individuals who can create a warm welcome while confidently managing the fast pace of a high-volume restaurant environment.
In this role, you will coordinate the flow of the dining room, manage reservations and waitlists, communicate with multiple departments, and help ensure every guest experience starts smoothly and professionally. The ideal candidate is friendly, composed under pressure, highly organized, and able to multitask effectively during busy service periods.
Our restaurant operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where communication, urgency, and teamwork are essential. While hospitality and guest interaction are the foundation of this role, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage guest flow efficiently are equally important.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression upon arrival
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating flow using systems such as OpenTable and Toast POS
- Escort guests to tables while maintaining awareness of server sections and restaurant pacing
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to support smooth operations
- Answer phones professionally and assist guests with reservations, questions, and special requests
- Monitor lobby and entrance areas to maintain organization and guest comfort during busy periods
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and surrounding areas
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage guest expectations professionally
- Support overall guest satisfaction by remaining attentive, solution-oriented, and calm under pressure
Qualifications
- Previous host, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume environment
- Comfortable managing large guest volumes and fast-paced shifts
- Experience with Toast, OpenTable, Aloha, Micros, or similar systems is a plus
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency
