Position Title: Server/Host
Location: The Vault Ristorante – Historic Downtown Sedalia
Schedule: Part-time or full-time; varying hours including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
Reports To: Front-of-House Manager / General Manager

Position Overview

The Server/Host plays a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience at The Vault Ristorante. This position combines warm hospitality, professional table service, and the ability to maintain a smooth and welcoming front-of-house flow. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment.

Responsibilities:

Hosting Duties

  • Greet guests promptly with a warm and professional demeanor
  • Manage reservations and walk-ins using the restaurant’s seating system
  • Maintain an organized waitlist and accurate wait-time estimates
  • Escort guests to tables and provide menus or initial information
  • Assist with phone calls, inquiries, and to-go order coordination
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entry and host stand area

Serving Duties

  • Provide attentive, knowledgeable service in line with The Vault’s standards
  • Take orders accurately and deliver food and beverages promptly
  • Explain menu items, daily features, and wine/cocktail offerings
  • Ensure tables are properly set, maintained, and cleaned between guests
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate needs throughout the dining experience
  • Process payments accurately and responsibly
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service

  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred; fine‑dining experience a plus
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
  • Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Able to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $7.50 - $15.00 per hour
