Bartenders at Four Points by Sheraton are responsible for providing high-quality, approachable service to independent travelers by preparing and serving beverages according to Marriott and brand standards.
- Drink Preparation: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including local craft beers through the Best Brews® program.
- Guest Interaction: Greet guests in a friendly, genuine manner, take orders accurately, and make tailored beverage and food recommendations.
- Bar Operations: Set up and maintain the bar area, including stocking ice, glassware, and supplies, and ensuring all tools and tables are clean and sanitary.
- Compliance: Verify guest identification for legal drinking age and monitor consumption to ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with local laws.
- Financial Handling: Process payments using point-of-sale TOAST (POS) systems, handle cash accurately, and complete end-of-shift reports or bank deposits.
- Collaborative Support: Assist servers, cooks, and other team members with food delivery or general operational tasks as needed.
Common Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Typically requires at least 1 year of related bartending or customer service experience.
- Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is generally required.
- Certification: Must have or be able to obtain local liquor handling certifications (e.g., TIPS, CARE, or Serving It Right).
- Skills: Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills are essential for managing high-volume shifts.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (8+ hours) and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
