Hotel Front Desk Agent

PLEASE NOTE: This is an occupancy-based business and therefore hours are scheduled based on business needs. We cannot guarantee a certain number of hours provided each week. Applicants with open availability and flexibility are prioritized.

Willing to train the right person! We do require at least 6 months of customer service; those with experience as servers highly encouraged to apply.

The moment a guest steps into our hotel, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As a Guest Service Representative, you’ll not only be the person they rely on to handle transactions, diligently registering guests, offer local insights and anticipate every detail of a smooth experience. You’ll also create the warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home away from home.

Strategically located in the Skagit Valley just south of Bellingham, Candlewood Suites offers spacious suites for guests looking for a home away from home in Burlington. Comfortably designed and furnished with thoughtful amenities for short or extended stays, each suite is equipped with a 55” TV, kitchen, and a workspace for the perfect blend of work, relax, and play. Hotel amenities include a 24-hour fitness center and complimentary laundry room, outdoor gazebo with BBQ grills, and the Candlewood Cupboard for any snacks or essential purchases.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly:

  • Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience
  • Acknowledge IHG One Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone, and promoting rewards club enrollments.
  • Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay
  • Handle cash and credit transactions
  • Start every stay right by swiftly checking guests in and out - verify IDs, issue room keys, and control and release any guest mail or packages
  • Stay one step ahead of guests’ needs – record and act on their preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions and concerns
  • Be a trusted contact for all guests. Help them with anything from bill questions to local knowledge, and loop in management when necessary
  • Stay safe all the time. Following our safety procedures, you’ll report all incidents and wear any protective gear needed
  • Take pride in your appearance and place as a brand ambassador
  • Always know what events and activities are on the day’s schedule
  • Jump into other duties as assigned

What we need from you

  • Previous experience in front office, guest services, or hospitality-related positions is preferred but not required!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in HotelKey PMS is a plus
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
