Job Overview
Best Western Houma Inn & Suites is seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure our property is clean, safe, and fully operational for our guests and staff. This hands-on role involves maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and hotel grounds, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all areas of the hotel meet our high standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering a comfortable and well-maintained environment for guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
  • Address room deficiencies such as plumbing leaks, HVAC issues, electrical repairs, furniture repairs, painting, carpet cleaning, and touch-ups.
  • Maintain hotel grounds including lawn care, grass cutting, landscaping, and general exterior upkeep.
  • Clean, maintain, and perform preventive care for swimming pools and water features.
  • Pressure wash and maintain parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior walkways.
  • Ensure proper operation of mechanical systems, lighting, and safety equipment throughout the property.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections for management review.
  • Collaborate with vendors or contractors for equipment repairs, upgrades, or parts procurement when needed.
  • Assist with seasonal or special projects, including painting, remodeling, or preventive maintenance campaigns.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with general property maintenance, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, furniture repair, and landscaping.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and upkeep for carpets, floors, and public areas.
  • Ability to operate landscaping and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills in English to coordinate with management, staff, and vendors.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of normal hours if necessary.
  • Prior experience in hotel or hospitality maintenance preferred, but not required.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
