Hotel Maintenance Technician

SureStay by Best Western Guam is looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our hotel. This role plays an important part in keeping the property safe, efficient, and comfortable for both guests and team members.

We’re seeking a hands-on individual who is organized, proactive, and committed to completing quality maintenance work while contributing to a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair work related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility upkeep.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems to identify issues and address them in a timely manner.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel’s maintenance schedule.
• Help maintain systems such as lighting, water heating equipment, fire protection devices, and other building systems.
• Document completed repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Keep tools, storage areas, and workspaces clean and organized.
• Assist with room setups, furniture moving, renovations, and other property projects when needed.
• Follow all safety standards, hotel policies, and OSHA-related procedures.
• Coordinate with management and outside vendors for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in hotel, property, or facilities maintenance is preferred.
• Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are a plus.
• Good troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Basic computer knowledge for work orders and maintenance records.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency call-ins if required.
