Hotel Sales & Conventions Director

Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Hotel Sales & Conventions Director to lead our sales efforts for group bookings, conventions, and corporate events. In this pivotal role, you will drive business growth by developing innovative sales strategies, cultivating strong client relationships, and managing a dynamic sales team. Your expertise in outside sales, B2B sales, and business development will be essential in positioning our hotel as the premier choice for large-scale events and conferences. You will oversee all facets of sales operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and maximizing revenue opportunities through targeted marketing and technology-driven solutions.

Duties

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive sales strategies to attract conventions, corporate meetings, and large group bookings.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, event planners, and corporate partners through proactive outside sales efforts.
  • Manage a high-performing sales team by providing coaching, leadership, and ongoing training to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling promotional campaigns that highlight our venue’s unique features and services.
  • Utilize CRM tools such as Salesforce to track leads, manage accounts, analyze sales data, and optimize outreach efforts.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes while safeguarding hotel profitability.
  • Oversee account management activities to ensure client satisfaction, repeat business, and positive referrals.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive positioning, and new business opportunities in the hospitality sector.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional customer service delivery from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up.

Experience

  • Proven success in outside sales within the hospitality or related B2B sectors, with a focus on large-scale events or conventions.
  • Demonstrated management experience leading a sales team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong background in business development, account management, and negotiation strategies.
  • Familiarity with marketing principles and experience leveraging digital tools such as Salesforce for analysis and outreach.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a customer service-oriented mindset to build lasting client relationships.
  • Analytical skills to interpret market data, sales metrics, and customer feedback for continuous improvement.
