Housekeeper

Blue Ridge Preservation, Inc of Boone is looking for full-time and part-time, year-round experienced Housekeeping Team Members. We are located on the campus of the Art of Living Retreat Center, a year-round retreat and residential housing community. The Housekeeping team member is an integral part of the Retreat Center as they ensure the cleanliness of our rooms and common areas for our guests.

A retreat center housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms and public areas, which includes changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, restocking amenities, and performing general cleaning tasks like dusting, vacuuming, and mopping. This role also involves responding to guest requests, reporting maintenance issues, and ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards to provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

- Cleaning guest rooms daily or between stays, making beds, changing linens and towels, and ensuring all surfaces, fixtures, and bathrooms are clean and sanitized.

- Replenishing toiletries, towels, drinking glasses, and other amenities in guest rooms.

- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting floors and furniture in both guest rooms and common areas.

- Collecting and disposing of trash, recycling, and room service trays from rooms and public areas.

- Identifying and reporting any maintenance issues, such as damaged appliances or broken light bulbs, to the appropriate department.

- Assisting guests with requests for extra items (e.g., cribs, extra towels) and providing friendly, professional service.

- Processing linens and assisting with laundry services.

- Maintaining and restocking cleaning supplies, linens, and other items on their housekeeping cart.

- Following retreat center policies and procedures, including safety, sanitation, and guest privacy protocols.
