Overview

The housekeeping team is the beating heart of our beloved boutique Inn. Housekeepers do not only clean the property, they take care of the details, welcome the guests with genuine hospitality, and provide thoughtful service. They create a highly comfortable environment for guests and special occasions. The Housekeepers always ensure the standards of the property are met or exceeded, and are the reason for so many incredible guest experiences.

Shifts:

- 7:30am - 2:00pm or 4:00pm. Requires pick-up of breakfast with personal vehicle, and delivery of breakfast to guest rooms.

- 9:00am - 2:00pm or 5:00pm. Requires closing Laundry room and Kitchen and organizing next- day supplies and linen.

- Most weekends mandatory. Weekdays as needed.

- Housekeeping reports to the General Manager.

Requirements:

• Experience cleaning in a hotel setting, preferably branded or luxury.

• Dress appropriately with the required attire and/or uniform and maintain proper personal hygiene.

• Have knowledge and skills of generally accepted Hotel policies and procedures.

• Be able to lift approximately 30 lbs of supplies when needed.

Core Duties:

Cleaning rooms and common spaces. Stripping rooms. Laundry. Cleaning kitchen, including dishes and polishing glasses. Cleaning outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities:

• Complete daily housekeeping goals by completing assigned rooms and tasks in the time allowed by management, independently or with a partner.

• Follow cleaning SOPs and standards for: Making beds, cleaning furniture, cleaning bathrooms, tile-work, windows, vacuuming, mopping wood and tile floors, cleaning appliances, polishing fixtures, dusting baseboards and ceilings, taking out trash, and general presentation.

• Strip rooms of linens, trash, and dishes.

• Efficiently and thoroughly clean guestrooms. Bring necessary supplies, linens and amenities.

•Correctly interpret brand standards and replenish all used amenities in the guestrooms and common spaces.

• Use bio-hazard safety precautions to prevent cross contamination.

• Ensure that rooms and their contents are properly maintained at all times.

•Communicate constantly with appropriate hotel departments about maintenance issues, amenity replenishments, guest charges, lost and found.

• Update front desk, and housekeeping boards with room status.

• Inspects rooms.

• Be aware of guest presence to clean guest rooms at most appropriate times.

• Maintain safe environment and OSHA practices for themselves and others at all times.

• Ensure that the public areas are being maintained and stocked at all times.

•Maintain cleanliness of outdoor sidewalks, furniture, windows and decks.

• Separate laundry.

• Stain treat laundry.

• Use laundry room machines properly.

•Maintain quality of linens by effectively treating and using appropriate machine cycles and products.

• Maintain linen par levels.

• Fold laundry.

• Does dishes. Polishes glasses and silverware.

• Takes trash, recycling and compost to correct

• Follow closing lists for laundry room and kitchen; Ensure that stock levels of housekeeping supplies, linens, cleaning equipment, are property maintained after each shift.

Other duties from time to time as assigned by immediate manager. Hotel management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
