The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors in a long-term care facility. This role plays a vital part in infection control, resident satisfaction, and overall facility appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality service in a healthcare setting. key responsibilities are:

  • Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, dining rooms, and administrative offices according to established cleaning schedules and protocols.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors and surfaces.

  • Remove trash, recycling, and biohazard waste safely and appropriately.

  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and hand sanitizers in resident and common areas.

  • Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, including proper use of PPE and chemicals.

  • Report maintenance issues, broken equipment, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.

  • Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and personal space while cleaning occupied rooms.

  • Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and resident rights.

  • Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings as required.
