The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors in a long-term care facility. This role plays a vital part in infection control, resident satisfaction, and overall facility appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality service in a healthcare setting. key responsibilities are:
Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, dining rooms, and administrative offices according to established cleaning schedules and protocols.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors and surfaces.
Remove trash, recycling, and biohazard waste safely and appropriately.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and hand sanitizers in resident and common areas.
Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, including proper use of PPE and chemicals.
Report maintenance issues, broken equipment, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and personal space while cleaning occupied rooms.
Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and resident rights.
Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings as required.
