Position Summary: 7am-3pm ONLY

The Housekeeping Assistant provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports infection control, survey readiness, and quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility standards.
  • Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms as needed.
  • Clean windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture according to schedules.
  • Handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste, per facility procedures.
  • Monitor for pests and report concerns to supervisor.
  • Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and survey preparation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of infection control and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Respect for resident dignity and privacy.

Required:

  • Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.

Preferred:

  • Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality.

Physical & Work Requirements

Standing/walking for most of shift; frequent bending and lifting (5
  • -40 lbs).
  • Ability to push housekeeping carts (up to 300 lbs with assistance).
  • Exposure to odors, chemicals, and wet/humid conditions.
