Position Summary:
The Guest Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of guest rooms in accordance with Grand Sierra Resort’s high standards of excellence. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experience by maintaining a clean, comfortable, and well-stocked environment for every guest. Upon successful completion of training, all Guest Room Attendants are required to complete their daily assigned room credits during each 8-hour shift while maintaining the highest level of quality, safety, and service consistency.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to established departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
- Make beds, change linens, dust furniture, vacuum carpets, mop floors, clean bathrooms, mirrors, fixtures, and glass surfaces.
- Replenish amenities, towels, linens, and supplies in guest rooms to the required par levels.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms by thoroughly scrubbing sinks, bathtubs, shower walls and doors, toilets, and tile floors using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure all assigned guest rooms are released within established timeframes and quality standards.
- Handles all guest requests, questions, or concerns promptly, courteously, and professionally.
- Report all maintenance and engineering issues promptly through Hot SOS to ensure timely resolution and maintain guest room quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized housekeeping cart and storage area throughout the shift.
- Adhere to all resort safety, security, and sanitation policies.
- Properly handle lost and found items, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately.
- Support departmental needs by assisting in other areas of the housekeeping operation, including public areas, deep cleaning, or special projects, as assigned.
- Always exhibit a professional and positive demeanor, representing Grand Sierra Resort’s values and service standards.
- Warmly greeted guests encountered during service, helping and responding to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Any other duties assigned within the scope of this position.

Performance Expectations:
- Upon successful completion of training, all Guest Room Attendants must complete their daily assigned room credits within each 8-hour shift.
- Maintain an average inspection score of 85% or above on all rooms serviced.
- Consistently meet or exceed departmental time, quality, and productivity expectations.
- Adhere to attendance, grooming, and uniform standards as outlined by the department.
- Demonstrate teamwork, reliability, and commitment to operational excellence.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as business demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Repetitive motions, including bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting, are required.
- Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment while following all safety protocols.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work performed indoors, alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around electrical devices.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be quiet or loud at times.
- Team Member may be exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, confined areas, vibrations, solvents/oils, fumes/odor, dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, slippery surfaces and/or secondhand smoke.
