Housekeeping Houseperson

The Opportunity:

Our Glorietta Bay Inn is looking for a Houseperson to join the Housekeeping team.

This position assist in providing assistance to Housekeepers and in deep cleaning rooms by moving furniture and cleaning specific areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

General cleans guest rooms and general areas by moving furniture and cleaning areas such as edging carpets, washing inside windows, checking drapes, scrubbing bathroom floors, inspecting inventories, changing shower curtains and vacuuming.

Rotates mattresses on a quarterly basis.

Checks on room status.

Assists Room Attendants in their daily activities.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Assists in other areas assigned by manager such as lobby attendant, houseperson, front desk, maintenance supply person and/or runner due to changes in weather, occupancy, scheduling.
• Interacts with guests by providing hotel information, instructions, and directions
• Reports any safety concerns to manager

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively work within the department.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

High School graduate or equivalent, preferred

EXPERIENCE

Six (6) months to one (1) year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial service preferred

Pay: $18.30 - $20.79 per hour

Shift:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
