Housekeeping Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support housekeeping staff during daily operations
  • Schedule assignments and ensure adequate departmental coverage
  • Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met
  • Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff on proper cleaning procedures, infection control, and safety practices
  • Monitor inventory levels and order housekeeping supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, state, and facility infection prevention guidelines
  • Address resident, family, and staff concerns related to housekeeping services in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with cleaning duties as needed to support departmental operations
  • Maintain accurate records, schedules, and documentation
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall resident satisfaction and facility cleanliness

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge of infection control and cleaning standards in healthcare settings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical duties throughout the shift
