Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including floors, windows, restrooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies
• Conduct janitorial and custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
• Execute specialized floor care procedures like buffing, polishing, stripping, and sealing to maintain high-quality flooring surfaces
• Assist with industrial cleaning projects that may involve heavy-duty equipment or hazardous materials following safety protocols
• Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and general upkeep to ensure optimal operational conditions
• Maintain cleanliness logs and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisors
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and proper handling of cleaning chemicals to create a safe work environment

Skills

• Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment
• Knowledge of floor care methods such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing for various flooring types
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning standards as well as residential painting and industrial cleaning practices
• Ability to operate custodial machinery safely and efficiently including vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks effectively
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly
• Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
