Housekeeping/Maintenance

Since 1926, Mystic Lake YMCA Camp has been providing children and families with outstanding programs focused on helping them grow. Sessions at camp focus on the character values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility within each activity. We are seeking dedicated and reliable Housekeepers/General Maintenance Staff to join our team. As a Housekeepers/General Maintenance Staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment for our campers. These staff properly and thoroughly accomplish the cleaning of the Mystic Lake YMCA Camp facilities as well as light building maintenance and repair. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will ensure that our campers have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Position Responsibilities

• Complete all facility custodial duties outlined by Supervisor, in a conscientious and timely manner.
• Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Advise management on custodial issues and projects as requested.
• Ensure that all custodial equipment is maintained, stored, and properly operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA and industry best practices.
• Attend staff meetings as requested.
• Complete all required YMCA trainings within the time allotted.
• Engage with all staff, campers, and parents to build strong relationships towards the advancement of the YMCA.

Job Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Working knowledge of custodial-related functions. Three or more years of experience in a custodial or closely related field preferred.
• Housekeeping and/or facilities management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Custodial: Familiarity with maintaining cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies or common spaces.
• Attention to detail: Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms/areas to ensure they meet quality standards.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, an employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, climb ladders, walk, paint, mow grass, shovel snow, plow snow, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, communicate and have visual acuity.
