A Houseman plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation and pristine appearance of a luxury hotel or resort. This position supports the housekeeping and engineering teams by handling general cleaning, guest requests, and logistical tasks, ensuring that the property meets the high standards expected in luxury hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and service corridors.
- Deliver luggage, supplies, and amenities to guest rooms as needed.
- Support housekeeping staff in moving furniture, setting up rooms, and performing deep cleaning tasks.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet, event, or conference areas.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards.
- Ensure cleaning equipment, carts, and supplies are well-stocked, organized, and properly maintained.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and provide courteous service at all times.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and luxury service standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Houseman or in a similar role within luxury hotels or resorts preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and service standards.
- Professional, courteous, and guest-oriented attitude.
