5 days onsite (potential for 1-2 hybrid days after 90 days based on performance)

$60,000-$65,000 (targeting $60K)

Our client, a well-established professional services firm, is seeking a polished and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join their Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants hands-on generalist exposure across payroll, benefits, onboarding, employee support, and internal communications. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of HR experience, strong system skills, and a professional, confident presence.
Responsibilities
* Support daily HR operations and serve as a resource for employee inquiries
* Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and employee data
* Assist with payroll processing, overtime tracking, and timekeeping audits
* Coordinate onboarding, new-hire paperwork, and system access
* Assist with benefits administration, including reconciliations and vendor communication
* Prepare employee announcements, birthday/anniversary messages, and internal updates
* Support employee culture initiatives, events, and general HR communications
* Track performance evaluations, training, and leave-related documentation
* Provide administrative support including reporting, calendaring, and file management
* Ensure compliance with firm policies and employment regulations
* Perform additional duties to support the HR Manager and broader team
Qualifications
* 1-2 years of HR experience (any HR function; not looking for someone exclusively recruiting-focused)
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS systems
* Professional, polished communication skills and strong interpersonal presence
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail
* Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
* Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly professional environment
* Bachelor's degree preferred
