HR Assistant

Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Report To: General Manager and HR Director

We are searching for a qualified and resourceful HR Assistant to support our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. This is a highly visible role that involves a hands-on approach for all things HR.

The HR Assistant will have administrative and strategic responsibilities, and will help with recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, benefit administration, record maintenance, occupational health & safety, and more.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Regular, daily communication with management team and department supervisors.
  • Assist with full cycle recruiting efforts, including posting job vacancies, candidate screening, interviews, job fairs, partner with staffing agencies (when applicable), etc.
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience.
  • Assist with administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with employee benefit enrollment, changes and issues that arrive with company plans.
  • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.
  • Act as a safety ambassador of the organization and hold others accountable to safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of human resources experience in manufacturing or industrial environment, including full-cycle recruitment of exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Advanced computer skills including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll, and HR software; Ability to learn new technical systems.
  • Aptitude for problem solving, resourceful thinking, and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Leadership and coaching skills.
  • Self-starter, that enjoys taking initiative and can follow through.
  • Ability to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently.
  • Regular and predictable attendance

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge or work experience with ADP WorkforceNow and Ease Central.

Physical Requirements of Position:

  • Regularly required to sit, walk and stand
  • Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
  • Use hands repetitively to handle and operate standard office equipment
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Light or moderate lifting

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
