HR Benefit Specialist

This role plays a key part in supporting our employees by ensuring smooth delivery of health, wellness, and retirement benefits while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and thrives in a collaborative HR environment.

Duties and responsibilities


  • Administer day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits).
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate information and resolving issues with care and professionalism.
  • Assist with new hire benefits orientation and ensure accurate benefits enrollment.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment, including communications, system setup, and employee assistance.
  • Maintain and audit benefits data in HRIS and benefits platforms to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process life event changes, terminations, COBRA notifications, and other benefits-related updates.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators to resolve claims or service issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations such as ERISA, ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
  • Support benefits reporting, invoicing, and reconciliation of carrier bills.
  • Assist with wellness initiatives and employee engagement related to benefits offerings.
