HR Generalist

Starting pay $49,800

The Human Resources Generalist provides support, assistance, and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities that will enable the individual to develop work skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment. Through the support and guidance given to individuals with significant disabilities, they will be able to advance their knowledge, skills, and interpersonal skills opening up a variety of opportunities including upward mobility within Didlake's organization.

Recruitment and Hiring

  • Assisting hiring managers with targeting and identifying a diverse pool of candidates and establishing an effective interview process.
  • Supports Didlake hiring priorities by assisting the Recruiting team when necessary.

New Employee Orientation and Onboarding

  • Responsible for working with managers to successfully onboard new employees by performing new hire check-ins at the site.
  • Perform orientations, training, and support systems for onboarding new employees and supporting the transition of employees.
  • Help establish and maintain organizational culture through the onboarding process and conducting employment verification.

Staff Training and Development

  • Coordinate with the Training Department and managers to establish and conduct training and development initiatives for employees.
  • Ensure employees receive all Didlake required training and development.
  • Coordinate with supervisors on performance management and the development of employees regularly.

Employment and Compliance

  • Conduct routine visits to worksites in support of employee engagement and identify areas of improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends, practices, and compliance issues. Work with HR Director to ensure that organization complies with all HR legal requirements.
  • Assists with all Federal reporting requirements.

Equity and Inclusion

  • Work with the HR Director to drive policies and structural frameworks that will operationalize diversity, equity, and inclusion in identifying talent, hiring, and creating an employee life cycle that reflects the Organization's Mission and Vision.
  • Track, identify, and highlight trends, disparities, and gaps through evidence such as data and ensure there are responsive protocols to remedy employee issues with managers.
  • Provides leadership to staff by fostering teamwork. Balances teamwork and individual responsibility by giving feedback to staff to nurture a positive team spirit and quality performance. Models dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance.

Compensation and Benefits Administration

  • Provide support to employees regarding benefits, compensation, and leave administration in a timely and professional manner, including troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise and support that is required.
  • Assist Benefits Administrator in monitoring attendance issues and updates as required.
  • Assist Benefits Administrator with open enrollment initiatives.

Policy Review and Implementation

  • Review and stay updated on all Didlake policies and procedures as required.
  • Support enforcement of policies and educate managers on Didlake policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve internal complaints and /or violations of policies.
  • Conduct or assist in conducting timely investigations and report findings of investigations to the Human Resources Manager.

Employee Relations

  • Addresses employee relations and performance issues by meeting with managers, job coaches, managers, and direct reports to determine, implement, and communicate effective solutions.
  • Develops and writes performance management documentation.
  • Partners with Contract Operations, Workforce Support & Development, and Rehabilitation Departments when disciplinary or behavior issues occur with employees to ensure that disciplinary actions are in alignment with the organization's mission.
  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
  • Assists with responding to EEOC and Human Rights Office's charges of discrimination and claims for unemployment compensation.
  • Stays current of local, state, and federal laws as they relate to all aspects of employment.
  • Responsible for conducting exit interviews for employees.
  • Conducts all employment verifications.
  • Identifies impact on individuals with significant disabilities as it relates to the function of their job.

Requirements:

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources Management or Business related field plus 2 years of HR experience or AA degree and 4 years of HR experience or a combination of education and experience to equal a BA/BS degree and 2 years experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Knowledge of human resource functions including employee relations, recruitment, and business management and strategy, workforce planning and employment, benefits, and human resources development.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours, often including evenings.
  • Spanish fluency is preferred. Ability to effectively communicate and comfortably speak in a large group setting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all matters.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effectively prioritize and multi-task assignments and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, as well as independently, set goals, prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people with disabilities, diversified cultures, and diversified socioeconomic groups.
  • Ability to maintain positive staff, employee, and job applicant satisfaction by meeting and resolving needs promptly.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
