Human Resources Generalist – Grand Haven

Position Summary:

The new member of the Human Resources team will be experienced in handling a variety of HR and administrative tasks. The Human Resources Generalist will be a highly inventive team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, and efficient. The individual will be able to exercise good judgement in all situations with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, while still maintaining a realistic balance among multiple priorities with discretion and integrity. Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.


Responsibilities:

  • Learn and assist with a multitude of Human Resources responsibilities
  • Recruitment assistance with assessing candidates and auditing external information
  • Use the HR System to track and expedite employee tasks
  • Maintain personnel records in accordance with HR regulations in a variety of formats
  • Be involved in improving employee safety
  • Handle matters expeditiously and dedicatedly; follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
  • Succinctly, accurately and efficiently communicate information verbally and in writing
  • Maintain and respect confidentiality of information

Qualifications:

  • Academic background or work experience in Human Resources preferred
  • Recruiting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • 1 year of HR software experience
  • Professionalism in the workplace
  • A friendly personality with a desire to help our internal customers
  • Able to communicate clearly, appropriately, and concisely in verbal and written formats
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with employees and vendors
