Full Job Description

This is an in-person and on-site role here at our main office in Fort Collins. The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring the smooth coordination of HR functions across the organization. This position assists in implementing HR policies and procedures that align with the company’s goals, while providing hands-on support in employee relations, onboarding, recruiting, compliance, and performance-related processes. The HR Generalist is also expected to demonstrate empathy, build strong connections with employees, and serve as a positive and approachable presence within the company. The role contributes to training initiatives, recordkeeping, and overall HR administration, while helping foster a supportive, respectful, and engaging workplace culture. This position is essential in helping maintain a positive work environment and supporting the growth and retention of a strong, motivated workforce within our competitive trades industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of human resources experience, preferablyin the service or trades industry.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements (e.g., EEOC, FLSA).
  • Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate integrity, and approach employee concerns with compassion and fairness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification (*_preferred but not required_*).
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience assisting with payroll processes.
  • Experience in benefits administration.
  • Background in employee engagement, culture-building initiatives, or wellness programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring each employee feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
  • Build trusting relationships by being an accessible, empathetic resource for employees and leaders.
  • Support employee relations by helping address concerns and promoting a positive, respectful workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with performance review processes and tracking employee evaluations.
  • Help coordinate training sessions, development programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide support in payroll processing and benefits administration as needed.
  • Prepare basic HR reports and assist with data tracking for HR metrics.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.

Empathy, emotional intelligence, and active listening are critical in understanding employee needs, resolving concerns, and supporting a healthy workplace culture. Attention to detail and analytical ability are essential for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. Proficiency in HR systems, payroll/benefits tools, and office software supports efficient workflow across HR functions. Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills enable the Generalist to handle multiple priorities effectively. Ultimately, this role requires someone who can connect with people, promote a culture of respect and collaboration, and contribute meaningfully to the company’s overall success.
