As a Human Resources Generalist at Norrell Construction, Inc., you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This role requires a blend of HR expertise including recruiting, onboarding, HRIS, and a strong understanding of the industrial sector to effectively manage recruitment and employee relations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong ethics, and the ability to multi-task and handle complex situations.
EXPERIENCE
- REQUIRED: 3+ years of experience in a Human Resource Role

Proven experience in human resources management or generalist roles with a strong understanding of human capital management practices.

Demonstrated knowledge of employment & labor law compliance, OSHA regulations, and workers’ compensation procedures.

Hands-on experience with HRIS systems such as Workday and ADP.

Experience with DISA, ProActive, HASC and Brazosport Safety Council.

Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills for effective employee engagement, training delivery, and conflict resolution.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strategic planning capabilities.
KNOWLEDGE
HR Administration & Compliance:

Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Conducts background checks, reference checks, coordinate pre-employment assessments, and employee eligibility verifications.

Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
-
Partner with hiring managers to understand job requirements, create accurate job descriptions, and determine the best sourcing channels.

Promote the company’s employer brand and build relationships with local trade schools, universities, and industry associations to enhance recruitment efforts.

Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent for various positions, including skilled trades, project management, and administrative roles.

Manage employee records in HRIS.

Maintain accurate HR data entry in HRIS platforms like ADP, Workday, Smartsheet, and Sharepoint.

Support change management initiatives by assisting with organization design projects, working with managers and leadership, and implementing new HR policies or systems.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition:
