Are you a personable HR professional who brings both heart and sound judgment to your work? The San Angelo District of TxDOT is looking for an HR Generalist I or II who thrives in a collaborative environment, stays calm under pressure, and enjoys making meaningful connections across the workforce.
In this role, you’ll be a steady and trusted presence across our 15-county district—supporting employees through onboarding, benefits administration, training coordination, and other day-to-day HR processes. You’ll lead wellness initiatives and events, present to groups with confidence, and engage with employees in the field.

Performs responsible human resources-related work in a district or the Human Resources Division. Work involves coordinating and communicating sensitive information; and maintaining confidentiality. Work requires contact with management, employees, retirees, health care providers; and state and federal agencies. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Will be trained in tasks to work independently.

HR Generalist II will also perform these duties:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: No experience required.
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
HR Generalist II:Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 1 year human resources-related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications:Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
