Summary:
Location: 280 Chestnut St; Springfield MA; (commutable remote MA & CT) 2-3 days a week onsite;
Schedule: Day shift; Monday-Friday; flexible start time
Reporting to the Director, the HR Generalist is responsible for providing HR support and customer service to on-site and remote employees by partnering with Shared Services, HR Business Partners, Benefits and the CoEs (Centers of Excellence) to meet objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, leave management, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy interpretation and implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. In addition, the HR Generalist will handle the escalation of Service Now cases and a broad range of day-to-day human resource activities. Also responsible for training and educating, and go to support to the HR Support Specialist. This role will also assist with training and documentation of HR support duties.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Serves as Tier 3 support for Shared Services: Handles escalation of cases and routes to appropriate CoE or HRBP as applicable.
2) Performs policy interpretation and assists in communicating and implementing new and/or updated policies.
3) Oversees and responds to complex unemployment and subpoena review and data collection
4) Handle routine matters for repetitive transactions, auditing, and compliance with our business processes to ensure timely processing
5) Monitor and partner with the organization to comply with license and certification requirements.
6) Assist with training and educating HR Specialist
7) System administrator for Shared Services technology including but not limited to Service Now, and OnBase.
8) Assists with department support coverage and team projects, as needed.
9) Facilitate team meetings
10) Assist with training and educating HR Operations Specialist
Required Work Experience:
1) 2-4 years HR Generalist or Human Resource experience with emphasis on HCM/Benefits
