To design, implement, manage, and continuously improve the Performance Management System (PMS) aligned with organizational goals, ensuring effective goal setting, performance tracking, appraisal execution, and development planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesPMS Design & Implementation
- Design and maintain the Performance Management System aligned with business objectives.
- Define performance cycles, appraisal frameworks, rating scales, and review methodologies.
- Coordinate PMS rollout across departments and ensure timely execution.
Goal Setting & Tracking
- Facilitate KRAs/KPIs setting for all roles in consultation with department heads.
- Ensure alignment of individual goals with organizational and departmental objectives.
- Monitor performance progress and flag deviations proactively.
Appraisal Management
- Manage mid-year and annual appraisal cycles end-to-end.
- Ensure accurate data collection, evaluation consistency, and closure within timelines.
- Support managers in performance evaluation and feedback delivery.
Performance Reviews & Feedback
- Drive structured performance discussions and feedback mechanisms.
- Identify high performers, average performers, and low performers.
- Support development plans, improvement plans (PIP), and succession planning.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Generate PMS reports, dashboards, and insights for management review.
- Analyze performance trends, productivity gaps, and training needs.
- Maintain PMS documentation and records.
System & Process Management
- Manage PMS through HRMS/automation tools (if applicable).
- Coordinate system configurations, upgrades, and user support.
- Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
Employee & Manager Enablement
- Train employees and managers on PMS processes, timelines, and expectations.
- Act as a point of contact for PMS-related queries and clarifications.
- Promote a performance-driven culture across the organization.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of PMS frameworks, KRAs, KPIs, and appraisal systems
- Analytical and reporting skills
- Stakeholder management and communication skills
- Process orientation and attention to detail
- Knowledge of HRMS / PMS tools (preferred)
Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / MSW / PGDM in Human Resources
- 2–6 years of experience in PMS / Performance Management (role-dependent)
- Experience in implementing or managing PMS cycles end-to-end
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time completion of PMS cycles
- Quality and alignment of KRAs/KPIs
- Manager and employee PMS adoption rate
- Accuracy and effectiveness of performance reports
- Reduction in performance-related escalations
