Provenza Floors is a privately held flooring manufacturer and distributor with over 40 years of excellence and approximately $110 million in annual revenue. We serve customers across North America with premium wood, laminate, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring, along with moldings and floor care products.

Our team of over 100 employees is the foundation of our success, and we are committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement. We are seeking an HR & Payroll Manager to strengthen our people operations and drive strategic HR initiatives.

Position Overview

The HR & Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources and payroll for our Tustin headquarters. Reporting directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to the CFO, this role requires a proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented professional who can implement HR best practices, ensure compliance, and support both salaried and hourly employees.

This is a 100% onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Address employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance concerns.
  • Develop and implement a performance review process for hourly and salaried staff.
  • Administer employee benefits, open enrollment, and life event updates (e.g., marriage, childbirth, divorce).
  • Partner with staffing agencies to maintain a reliable pipeline of hourly employees.
  • Ensure compliance with California and federal labor laws.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional workplace culture.

Payroll

  • Oversee pre-payroll activities, including timesheet validation, corrections, and approvals.
  • Process biweekly payroll through Paylocity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage post-payroll reporting, including payroll registers and reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll and expense reports for Accounting.
  • Review and process employee expense reimbursements.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure employer tax compliance and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Psychology, or Organizational Behavior.
  • 7–10 years of HR and payroll experience, preferably in organizations with fewer than 200 employees.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Experience with Paylocity is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of California and federal labor laws.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing employee performance review systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to implement HR best practices in a growing organization.
  • Professional references required prior to offer.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
