HR Project Manager

HR Project Manager

HR Project Manager with expertise in compliance driven HR programs, specializing in 401(k) administration, employee benefits, leave of absence management, and HRIS/payroll system implementations. Proven ability to lead cross functional initiatives that ensure alignment with ERISA, IRS, FMLA, and state specific regulations, while improving operational efficiency and data integrity.

Program & Project Leadership

  • Direct cross functional HR projects spanning HRIS, payroll, benefits with emphasis on retirement plan administration, leave of absence administration and pay compliance initiatives
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of payroll related system integrations and M&A activities, ensuring alignment with compliance, timelines, and business objectives
  • Oversee project planning, stakeholder communication, risk mitigation, and execution across global teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Act as a liaison between HR, Payroll, and IT to support HRIS and payroll system enhancements (ADP Workforce Now / Lyric)
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across HR operations

Retirement Plans & Benefits Compliance

  • Manage retirement plan mergers, overseeing plan amendments, provision alignment, and regulatory compliance during integrations
  • Partner with payroll teams to ensure accurate 401(k) contributions, eligibility, and compliance with ERISA and IRS regulations
  • Oversee pension and deferred compensation plans
  • Lead audits and reporting related to retirement plans, including nondiscrimination testing, contribution limits, and plan governance
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve data integrity across systems

Pay Compliance & Governance

  • Lead initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and pay equity standards
  • Coordinate audit readiness efforts, including wage/hour audits, internal controls, and regulatory reporting

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll and HRIS experience, including lead support responsibilities
  • Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now and exposure to ADP Lyric preferred
  • Experience supporting HRIS/payroll implementations, system enhancements, testing, and data validation
  • Familiarity with wage and hour regulations, payroll audits, and reporting requirement
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate across HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and vendor teams in fast-paced environments

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, Paychex, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel reporting skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy, discretion, and integrity
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
