Job Purpose

As an HR Specialist, you will be supporting the development, review, standardization, and governance of job descriptions across academic and administrative functions within the university. The role is responsible for conducting job analysis, coordinating with departments and colleges, ensuring alignment with organizational structures and job architecture frameworks, and maintaining accurate job documentation in accordance with university policies and HR best practices.


Main accountabilities & expectations
  • Develop, review, and update job descriptions for academic and administrative positions across the university.
  • Conduct job analysis interviews and workshops with departments, colleges, and stakeholders to collect role-related information.
  • Ensure job descriptions accurately reflect responsibilities, reporting lines, required qualifications, competencies, and accountability levels.
  • Standardize job descriptions using approved university templates, formats, and job architecture frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment between job descriptions, organizational structures, mandates, and approved workforce plans.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews of job descriptions to ensure continued relevance and operational alignment.
  • Prepare reports and status trackers on JD review progress and completion rates.
  • Maintain a centralized repository/database for approved job descriptions.
  • Support audit and accreditation requirements related to organizational structures and job documentation.


Required Skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Basic data entry and management skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems related to HR operations would be an advantage.

Desirable Requirements
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a relevant discipline.
  • A professional Human Resources certification (such as CIPD, SHRM, etc.) would add an advantage.
  • 3-5 years of UAE experience in a similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
