The Human Resources Support Specialist provides administrative and technical support to the Human Resources Department in delivering high-quality services to faculty, staff, applicants, and students. This position contributes to the efficiency of HR operations by performing data entry and records management, coordinating recruitment and onboarding logistics, assisting with compliance and risk audits, and providing responsive customer service. The Human Resources Support Specialist plays a key role in advancing the College’s mission by supporting a positive, inclusive, and well-organized workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Entry & Records Management

Enter and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and related systems.

Prepare, organize, and maintain personnel files and other confidential HR records in compliance with college policy and state/federal regulations.

Generate reports to support HR decision-making and compliance monitoring.
Recruitment & Onboarding Support-
Post job vacancies to internal and external platforms, ensuring consistency with college standards and EEO compliance.

Coordinate applicant communication, interview scheduling, and candidate materials.

Assist with onboarding processes by preparing new hire paperwork, creating employee files, and updating systems.
Risk & Compliance-
Support the preparation and execution of internal and external audits related to HR practices.

Monitor documentation requirements (e.g., I-9s, credentials, licensure, training) for accuracy and completeness.

Assist in safety checks and risk assessments
Customer Service & Departmental Support-
Serve as a primary point of contact for general HR inquiries, providing accurate information and courteous service to employees, applicants, and the public.

Respond to questions regarding policies, procedures, and employment opportunities, referring complex matters to HR staff as appropriate.

Provide clerical and project support to HR staff in areas such as employee engagement, professional development, and other College initiatives.
