Job Summary:
Palisade Healthcare Center is looking for a HR/Scheduling Coordinator to create, maintain and manage nursing staff schedules and provide HR administrative support.
Essential Functions:
Staffing & Scheduling:
Develop, maintain, and post nursing staff schedules at least 2 weeks in advance.
Adjust schedules based on staffing needs, census fluctuations, call-ins, new admissions and employee availability.
Communicate schedules, shift changes, and time-off approvals to staff in a timely manner.
Address any scheduling conflicts or issues that arise.
Track attendance and maintain accurate staffing records.
Ensure staffing compliance with federal and state regulations and PBJ requirements.
Human Resources Support:
Maintain employee personnel files, including active and terminated employees.
Process new hire onboarding paperwork and assist with orientation coordination.
Process terminations, status changes, and pay adjustments.
Conduct background checks and track pre-employment requirements.
Maintain tracking systems for license renewals, certifications, and OBRA compliance.
Collaborate with Management:
Work closely with nursing home management to understand staffing needs and budget targets.
Manage and report labor hours (PPD) to ED and DNS.
Communicate with the Director of Nursing regarding open nursing positions.
Communicate staff reported discrepancies to the ED/DNS to foster positive relationships with staff and reduce turnover.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of labor laws and healthcare staffing requirements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
Previous experience in healthcare staffing, scheduling, or human resources, preferably in a nursing home setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.
CNA certification preferred.
