Job Summary

As a HSE Engineer, will be responsible for independently developing professional and responsible for supervising junior officers and having a strong HSE inspection track record, planning ability, high level problem solving and analytical capability and man-management skills. Will have responsibility for a large, high-risk site/project, or a number of smaller, less complex, lower risk sites/projects.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the HSE team providing some guidance in facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards
• Supervises an operational team of HSE personnel for a particular facility/site to ensure that resources are optimally allocated and all necessary operational safety obligations are fulfilled
• Instructs, assigns daily work plans for and ensures the capability of a team of HSE officers so that they are clear about what is expected of them and they have the skills required to carry out their duties
• Reviews and evaluates existing procedures to ensure compliance and implements changes where needed.
• Participates in the implementation of HSE department policies, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and procedures and selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to the more complex problems escalated from the line
• Ensures the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date safety databases in order that reliable performance histories are maintained.
• Aware of Monthly SPI, Weekly Man-hours working, Quarterly Emergency evacuation and fighting drill report, Issue Incident and environmental reports, Incidents Statics analysis, Monthly inspection for Tools and equipment.
• Maintains ongoing communications with operational and support staff to ensure that awareness is maintained of operational activities and HSE provision can be made accordingly
• Prepares and delivers safety lectures and drill packages for HSE personnel, operational staff and contractors as required to ensure complete safety awareness and compliance

Requirements

• Essential:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 5 to 8 years proven experience in HSE, including hands-on experience with relevant on-site.
• Must be lead auditor at ISO 14001& ISO 45001, NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OTHM6 OR 7 & OSHA 30 certificates are a must.
• Work experience preferably in an Engineering and manufacturing, fabrication, construction
• Experience in GCC is preferable.
• Area of Experience: experience in Infrastructure, Roads and Superstructure is a must.
• Very good communication skills.
• Strong Presentation skills.
• excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective negotiation & detail-oriented skills.
• Should be Fluent in Arabic and English language
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Speaking in Public, to Groups or in Events
• Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with people at all levels, internally and externally.
• Proficient Health & Safety awareness
• Good relationship building and communication skills

• Experience of using ERP D 365 to fetch business information is an asset.
