HSE Engineer - Villa Projects

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE management systems, policies, and procedures in line with project and legal requirements.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments, Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for construction activities.
  • Review and approve Method Statements and ensure all activities are carried out safely as per approved procedures.
  • Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards.
  • Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, excavation, and confined space entry.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare comprehensive reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Bahrain HSE regulations, international standards, and company policies.
  • Lead and support HSE training programs including inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
  • Prepare and maintain HSE documentation including reports, permits, inspection records, and statistics.
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure effective HSE implementation.
  • Monitor environmental performance including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices.
  • Track and analyze HSE performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field) or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in Bahrain in HSE within the construction industry.
  • NEBOSH IGC (mandatory); NEBOSH Diploma is an advantage.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, risk management, and local regulations.
  • Experience in implementing HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting systems.
  • Valid GCC driving license will be an added advantage.
