Job Description – HSE Engineer/Specialist

Role Overview
We are seeking experienced HSE Engineers/Specialists with proven expertise in Facilities Management or the Education sector. The role will focus on ensuring risks are effectively controlled, safety practices are embedded into daily operations, and all stakeholders are trained, supported, and compliant with UAE HSE regulations and ADOSH-SF requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and regularly update Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, Risk Registers, and Action Plans.

Ensure all risks are identified, controlled, and monitored across site operations.

Act as the escalation point for accidents and serious incidents; lead accident investigations, root cause analysis, and monthly trend reviews.

Highlight critical safety concerns to clients for immediate action.

Provide ongoing HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions, ensuring protocols become routine practice.

Monitor site activities for health and safety implications, applying required controls and corrective measures.

Support Management of Change (ADOSH-SF) by assessing safety impacts, communicating changes, and ensuring structured control.

Maintain robust systems for reporting, tracking, and monitoring incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.

Conduct and close out inspections and audits as per agreed schedules, ensuring timely corrective/preventive actions with evidence.

Support emergency preparedness and drills, ensuring staff and contractors are trained to respond effectively.

Monitor and report on HSE KPIs, incidents, near misses, and compliance with SLAs/contractual obligations.

Stay updated on legal and industry developments to integrate best practices.

Promote sustainability and occupational health initiatives within the workplace.
Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory: Experience in Facilities Management or Education sector environments.

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.

NEBOSH/OSHA/ISO 45001 certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and ADOSH-SF procedures.

Demonstrated ability to lead investigations, conduct audits, and deliver HSE training.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
