The HSE Executive will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environment systems across the Chennai facility/site, ensuring compliance with Tamil Nadu Factory Rules, local statutory norms, and company HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Safety & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, Factories Act 1948, Tamil Nadu Factories Rules 1950, and local pollution control norms.
- Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments regularly.
- Maintain statutory registers, licenses, and documentation required by TN Government authorities.
- Ensure compliance during contractor and vendor activities.
2. Incident & Hazard Management
- Report, investigate, and document accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and track closure.
- Maintain incident logs and prepare monthly safety reports.
3. Training & Employee Awareness
- Conduct HSE induction for new joiners.
- Organize toolbox talks, fire safety drills, mock drills, and emergency preparedness sessions.
- Promote awareness on PPE usage, ergonomics, chemical safety, and safe material handling.
4. Environment Monitoring
- Monitor waste management, effluent treatment, and air/noise quality as per TNPCB guidelines.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste through authorized vendors.
- Support implementation of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain checklists, audit reports, statutory forms, and training records.
- Prepare MIS dashboards and submit HSE reports to management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, government inspectors, and certification bodies.
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure emergency exits, assembly points, fire alarms, and extinguishers are maintained.
- Conduct evacuation drills in line with Tamil Nadu Fire & Rescue Services norms.
- Support emergency response activities during incidents or drills.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards, Tamil Nadu regulations, and best industry practices.
- Excellent observation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to conduct training and influence workforce safety behaviour.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PPT, Word).
Qualification
- B.Sc / B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering.
- Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory/preferred depending on company).
- NEBOSH / IOSH certification is an added advantage.
- 1–3+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, hospital, facility management, or similar environment.
