HSE Manager

India

Role Purpose:

The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and programs to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, client expectations, and company standards at construction sites. This role ensures a safe workplace for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors, and promotes a strong safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and plans for the project.
  • Conduct site risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (Factories Act, BOCW Act, ISM, CLRA, etc.) and client safety requirements.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and implement preventive measures.
  • Organize and deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Monitor safe working practices related to high-risk construction activities (excavation, scaffolding, lifting, confined space, working at height, etc.).
  • Coordinate with government agencies, consultants, and clients regarding safety compliance and inspections.
  • Maintain records of HSE audits, permits, incident logs, PPE usage, and statutory compliance documents.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and act as a role model for best practices in HSE.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Science or Diploma in Safety Management.
  • Certification in Industrial Safety (NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in HSE, with at least 5 years in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of national labour and safety laws, environmental regulations, and construction standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with diverse stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
