Key Responsibilities:
HSE Policy Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, and updating these documents to reflect legislative changes.
Risk Assessments and Safety Audits
- Regular risk assessments and safety audits are essential for landscaping sites. Identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate control measures are key. Findings should be documented and reported, with recommendations for corrective actions.
Training and Education
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors to ensure awareness of safety procedures and emergency protocols, including regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Incident Investigation and Reporting
- Analyze accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes, create thorough reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Environmental Management
- Promote environmental sustainability by ensuring proper waste management and disposal procedures are followed, and by monitoring compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct emergency drills and training, and coordinate with local emergency services.
Health and Well-being Initiatives
- Promote employee health and wellness programs and monitor occupational health hazards, implementing preventive measures.
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain current knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) best practices and technologies. Integrate ongoing enhancements into HSE management systems. Engage in HSE-related meetings and forums.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the landscaping or construction industry in UAE.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- NEBOSH and other certifications in UAE is must.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and write detailed reports.
- Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
