HSE Officer

Location: Mogadishu, Somalia secure zone

Project type:

5-star hotel + convention hall construction in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Project duration:

2 years

Key Responsibilities:
✔ Assist in implementing and monitoring HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans on construction projects.

✔ Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and project standards.

✔ Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.

✔ Support safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training for site personnel.

✔ Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.

✔ Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, and work permits.

✔ Coordinate with site management, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters.

✔ Promote a safety culture and ensure adherence to safe work practices on site.

Experience:

• Conducting site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Implementing and monitoring HSE policies, procedures, and safety plans.
• Conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers.
• Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, including preparing detailed reports.
• Maintaining HSE documentation, including work permits, inspection reports, and compliance records.
• Coordinating with site management, engineers, subcontractors, and workers on safety matters.
• Enforcing PPE compliance and safe work practices on-site.
• Familiarity with HSE software, reporting tools, and data analysis for safety metrics.
• Exposure to high-rise or large-scale construction projects is advantageous.
• Experience in emergency response planning and incident investigations
