Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Officer for our client in the new building shipyard industry. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promote a culture of safety, and coordinate HR-related matters with employees. The candidate must hold a valid UAE driving license.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in compliance with UAE laws and company standards.

· Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to ensure safe working conditions across the shipyard.

· Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

· Conduct safety induction, training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

· Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.

· Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance.

· Collaborate with HR to address employee welfare, grievances, training, and onboarding processes.

· Assist in workforce management matters, including attendance, work permits, and employee communication.

· Liaise with management, contractors, and regulatory authorities on safety and HR matters.

· Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are in place and periodically tested.

· Drive between shipyard sites, offices, and related locations as required (UAE driving license mandatory).

Candidate Profile:

· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field

· Minimum 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer, preferably in shipyard, construction, or heavy industries.

· Experience in HR coordination, employee engagement, and workplace welfare matters.

· Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, HSE regulations, and ISO standards.

· Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH are highly preferred.

· Proficient in MS Office and HSE management software.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

· Valid UAE driving license required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
