Job Summary
The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring that workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are effectively implemented in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The role involves risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, safety training, and ensuring safe work practices across all operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Compliance & Policy Implementation
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating HSE policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety rules and guidelines.
2. Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments (HIRA/JSA) and recommend control measures.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain hazard identification and incident reporting systems.
3. Safety Inspections & Audits
- Perform routine site inspections, safety walks, and internal HSE audits.
- Prepare inspection/audit reports and track closure of non-conformities.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
4. Incident & Accident Management
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes.
- Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain incident records in line with regulatory requirements.
5. Training & Awareness
- Conduct HSE inductions for new employees and contractors.
- Deliver regular training on safe work practices, emergency response, first aid, etc.
- Organize HSE awareness programs and toolbox talks.
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency equipment.
- Coordinate emergency drills (fire, evacuation, spill response).
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain HSE logs, checklists, permits-to-work, and statutory records.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly HSE reports for management review.
- Track and report key HSE KPIs.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- NEBOSH IGC (preferred or mandatory depending on industry).
- Additional certifications: IOSH, OSHA, First Aid, Fire Safety (an advantage).
Job Types: Temporary, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: From QAR5,000.00 per month
