HSE officer - Safety Officer / Engineer (NEBOSH)

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Site Safety Management

- Monitor daily site activities to ensure safe work practices.

- Conduct regular safety inspections.

- Identify hazards related to fit-out works For example: working at height, electrical risks, confined spaces.

- Ensure proper housekeeping across the site.

2. Risk Assessment & Method Statements

- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements before work starts.

- Ensure all tasks like gypsum work, painting, Metal works & MEP installation have proper safety procedures.

- Communicate risks and controls to workers clearly.

3. Toolbox Talks & Training

-Conduct daily or weekly toolbox talks.

- Train workers on:

• PPE usage
• Emergency procedures
• Safe handling of tools and materials
• Induct new workers entering the site.

4. Permit to Work System

- Issue and control permits for high-risk activities such as:

- Hot works (welding, cutting)

- Work at height

- Electrical works

- Confined space entry

5. PPE Compliance

- Ensure all workers wear appropriate PPE (helmets, gloves, goggles, harnesses).

- Check PPE condition and availability.

6. Incident Reporting & Investigation

- Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.

- Maintain proper safety records and logs.

7. Emergency Preparedness

- Develop and implement emergency response plans.

- Ensure availability of:

• Fire extinguishers
• First aid kits
• Emergency exits

Conduct fire drills and evacuation exercises.

8. Coordination with Project Team

- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

- Ensure safety compliance across all trades (civil, electrical, HVAC, etc.).

- Attend site meetings and provide safety updates.

9. Compliance with Regulations

- Ensure adherence to local safety laws and standards (e.g., UAE OSH regulations, municipality rules).

- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections.

10. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain:

• Safety reports
• Inspection checklists
• Training records
• Permit logs
• Prepare weekly/monthly safety reports.

11. Equipment & Tool Safety

- Ensure all tools and equipment are inspected and certified.

- Monitor safe use of ladders, scaffolding, and power tools.

12. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

- Manage waste disposal safely.

- Control dust, noise, and hazardous substances (paints, chemicals).

- Promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
