Overview
UnitedHealthcare Global are seeking highly skilled and dedicated HSE Offshore Medics to join our team in providing essential medical support in an offshore environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering immediate medical care, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting the wellbeing of personnel working in challenging conditions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, safety-critical setting where your expertise can make a significant difference. The position requires a proactive approach to emergency response, patient care, and health management in remote locations. PLEASE NOTE -This is a Freelance role, all applicants must already have all required certifications, including HSE Offshore Medic Course, BOSIET/FOET, MIST, OEUK Medical.
Responsibilities
· To provide appropriate primary and emergency medical / trauma response management, including the preparation for, assistance and management of emergency medical evacuations to second line treatment facility.
· To diagnose and manage routine medical conditions and minor injuries.
· To follow the medical procedures and protocols of UnitedHealthcare Global and report to UnitedHealthcare Global’s Virtual Health Service (VHS) Consulting Physician as required.
· To undertake accurate clinical examinations and maintain medical records.
· To safely and appropriately prescribe medications and when necessary seek advice from VHS Support.
· To treat all medical information and technical information obtained in the course of working on the project in the strictest confidence.
· To act as liaison with local medical authorities and health care facilities.
· To work proactively to ensure continuity in the delivery of the medical care.
· To initiate, promote and lead lifestyle and fitness programmes onboard that are relevant to the workforce and project location. Please see 2.3 below.
· To provide First Aid training, basic to advanced as required.
· To undertake weekly health and hygiene inspections of clinic facilities and provide assistance in identifying health and hygiene needs.
· To keep accurate records of the pharmacy inventory and ensure that stock levels are maintained to an adequate level. All re-supply items (equipment, medications, consumables) to be listed and provided to the site management for approval on a monthly basis.
· The medic will be responsible for undertaking monthly checks of the following:
- Rescue and first aid equipment in lifeboats
- First aid boxes
- Eyewash stations
- Medical equipment
- Medical stores inventory
Safety Performance Description
· To undertake water testing as directed.
· To undertake health and hygiene inspections as directed.
· To undertake training in electronic reporting systems and input HSE data.
· To maintain STOP cards and QHSE database where required.
· To assist with maintenance of crew database ie immunisation and vaccinations, medicals, BOSIET and fire fighting.
· To undertake Drug and Alcohol testing as required.
· Attend safety meetings.
Experience
Pay: From £350.00 per day
