Role Purpose
Implement HSE Management system and ensure compliance to local and legal requirements. Direct day to day activities of HSE team on site and support HSE manager
Key Accountabilities

Implement project HSE plan and procedures (HSE Management System); evaluate project HSE arrangement.

Liaise with client and consultant representative; develop and maintain a good working relationship with them.

Coordinate with HSE team members and ensure sound implementation of HSE management system.

Develop risk assessments and ensure correct implementation is in place to eliminate/mitigate risks occurring due to construction activities.

Assist project construction team to execute construction activities safely as per the approved Method and Risk assessment.

Prepare and submit task specific risk assessment to consultant for approval and ensure measures in the approved document are communicated within construction lead staff and HSE team.

Generate project risk register and submit to Project HSE Manager.

Conduct prestart meetings with subcontractors’ management to communicate HSE management system requirements and required documents necessary for site safety induction and access.

Ensure subcontractors are complying with HSE Management system.

Generate monthly/weekly HSE reports and KPIs and submit to consultant.

Conduct monthly safety audits to ensure the project is following ISO certification requirements; report and follow up on corrective actions.

Approve afterhours permits in accordance with the project HSE plan.

Attend safety tours with client and consultant.

Conduct HSE committee meetings as required by HSE plan and attend safety meetings with client and consultant.

Ensure compliance with training matrix.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

5-8 years’ experience of relevant working experience (preferred in well-established contracting companies in GCC)

NEBOSH certificate holder.

Diploma or degree as required by client specs or zoning authority requirements

Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions, including shift work within a manual/workshop environment.

Knowledge of HSE standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards.

Hands-on experience of implementing ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements.

Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSE tools.

Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence and conviction with the ability to intervene at all times.

A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
