Position Overview:
The HR Executive will oversee and manage key HR functions across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance — with a focus on handling HR operations for employees in African regions. The role requires a hands-on HR professional with strong knowledge of regional labour laws, cross-cultural management, and HR best practices suitable for a multi-country business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for African operations — sourcing, screening, and selecting candidates.
- Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower needs and ensure timely hiring.
- Oversee onboarding and induction programs for new hires to ensure smooth integration.
2. HR Operations & Administration
- Manage employee records, contracts, and documentation in line with company and country-specific regulations.
- Ensure timely processing of payroll inputs, attendance, and leave management in coordination with finance.
- Administer employee benefits and handle insurance and statutory compliance as per local laws.
3. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a point of contact for HR-related issues for African staff; provide guidance and support to employees and managers.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in line with company policies.
- Drive engagement initiatives to strengthen company culture and retention across African operations.
4. Performance Management
- Support the implementation of performance review systems and KPIs.
- Assist line managers in conducting appraisals, providing feedback, and implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs).
5. HR Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws in African countries of operation (e.g., Nigeria Labour Act, Zambia Employment Code, etc.).
- Maintain HR metrics and generate reports on headcount, attrition, and other HR KPIs for management review.
- Support audits, renewals, and statutory filings as required.
6. Strategic HR Support
- Contribute to developing HR policies, procedures, and regional alignment initiatives.
- Work with management to identify training and development needs for the African workforce.
- Participate in organizational restructuring or expansion projects across new markets.
7. MIS/Reporting
- Prepare & submit the weekly, monthly & annual hr reports.
- Update the hr records on time.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1–2 years managing HR functions in African countries.
- Strong understanding of HR operations, employment laws, and cultural dynamics in Africa.
- Experience in industries such as oil & gas, energy, logistics, or trading preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint and HR software (ERP/HRIS).
- Excellent communication skills (English required; French or local African languages is an advantage).
