Job Description – Human Resource (HR) Executive/Manager (School)Position Overview:

The HR in a school is responsible for managing all human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, staff welfare, compliance with educational regulations, and maintaining a positive work environment. The role ensures that the school has the right staff in place, and that policies are implemented fairly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Staffing
  • Plan and execute recruitment for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Coordinate with heads of departments for manpower requirements.
  • Draft job descriptions, post advertisements, and manage selection processes.
  • Conduct interviews along with academic heads/management.
  • Onboarding & Induction
  • Organize orientation and induction programs for new employees.
  • Prepare appointment letters, contracts, and maintain staff files.
  • Employee Records & Compliance
  • Maintain and update HR database, attendance, and leave records.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE/ICSE/State Board/IB guidelines (as applicable).
  • Handle employee documentation in line with labour laws and school regulations.
  • Performance Management
  • Coordinate performance appraisal system.
  • Support heads of departments in staff evaluation.
  • Recommend training and development programs.
  • Employee Relations & Welfare
  • Address staff grievances and concerns.
  • Implement staff welfare initiatives and employee engagement activities.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work culture.
  • Training & Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development workshops.
  • Organize mandatory training sessions (child safety, POSH, etc.).
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Support payroll preparation with attendance and leave data.
  • Ensure timely submission of PF, ESI, Gratuity, and other benefits.
  • Policy & Compliance
  • Draft and implement HR policies in line with school’s vision.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and education board guidelines.
  • Support audits and inspections.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and labour laws.
  • Experience in school/education sector (preferred).
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software.
  • Can manage with people & journey with equal ease.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in HR/Management (MBA HR preferred).
  • 5–8 years of HR experience (school/education industry experience is an advantage).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
