As a Human Resource Specialist, you will help develop, implement, support, and review all HR department initiatives, policies, procedures and systems. You will respond to inquiries concerning HR payroll issues, resolve issues through coordination with multiple departments as appropriate.

Under general supervision serves as a liaison between Lighthouse management and employees to foster positive relationships, to increase job satisfaction, and to assure staff value.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in management, human resources, or a related field from an accredited university or equivalent or 3+ years of equivalent experience. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with others; in training individuals; in serving as a consultant and in exercising good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions.
Overall knowledge of personnel records in accordance with policies and requirements that have been established in conjunction with Lighthouse management.
Overall knowledge of payroll and reports within the HRIS.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform bi-weekly payroll and maintain HRIS.
Ensure that Lighthouse maintains compliance with equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws (e.g., the Americans with Disabilities Act).
Develops training Lighthouse employees on Lighthouse policies and procedures, accrediting body’s regulations, and relevant state and federal regulations and laws.
Assists employees with their 401(k) contributions/accounts.
Maintains records of employment, process necessary paperwork, and ensure that the human resources processes are in compliance with state, federal and local regulations
Resolve routine issues and employee concerns regarding policies, programs, regulations, payroll concerns.
Assists with new employee processing/orientation.
Must meet “satisfactory” expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation, coaching and/or Performance Improvement Plans.
Must complete Lighthouse required training and resulting follow up and consultation as required at hire, annually and as directed by Supervisor.
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations.
